Hyderabad: Now, you can booze beyond midnight

HYDERABAD:The Telangana state government has extended business hours of 28 bars, falling under the limits of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and within 5-km periphery of GHMC, by one hour on all Fridays and Saturdays. 

Principal Secretary of Revenue Department (Excise and Commercial Taxes) Somesh Kumar issued orders to this effect on Thursday.  In the order, Somesh Kumar said that after careful examination of the proposal of Telangana State Excise Commissioner, the government has decided to permit him to extend business hours of 28 bars falling under the limits of GHMC and within 5-km periphery of GHMC on Fridays and Saturdays only. At present, the business hours of these bars are from 10 am till 12 midnight.
