Hyderabad: A major fire broke out at a second-floor flat in Dabeerpura Darwaza area of Old City on Tuesday afternoon, said police.

“Household articles including bedding and doors were damaged,” said a fire official.

“We suspect a short-circuit caused the fire,” he said.

In another incident at Tappachabutra, property worth a few lakh rupees was gutted in a fire in a furniture-making unit in the early hours of Tuesday.

“Two fire tenders were rushed, and the flames doused in a couple of hours,” the official said. There were no casualties in either incident.
