Hyderabad: Man gets 10-year rigorous imprisonment, for rape of minor

The court sent Chary to jail for raping the six-year-old girl at the time of offence after threatening her.

Hyderabad: A local court on Wednesday awarded 10-year rigorous imprisonment to a man convicted of raping a minor girl after four years of the crime.

 Falaknuma police inspector P. Yadagiri  said, “The accused, T.Narasimha Chary, 25, resident of Falaknuma was a neighbour of the victim.”

The court sent Chary to jail for raping the six-year-old girl at the time of offence after threatening her. 

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 2,000 on the accused. If the accused fails to pay the fine, he would have to spend two months more in jail.

The convict was tried under Section 42 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 2012 for raping the minor girl in 2014. Additional Metropolitan Session Judge Suneetha Kunchala sentenced the rapist to 10  years rigorous imprisonment after the prosecution proved all the  charges against Chary.
