Bengaluru: Auto driver held for sexual assault

Bengaluru: A 36-year-old auto driver was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 40-year-old woman and attempting to murder her in Bagalgunte police limits.

The accused has been identified as Nagaraj N., a resident of Sidehalli. According to the complainant, Nagaraj barged into her house on Wednesday when she was alone and sexually assaulted her.

“I was alone at home when he (Nagraj) knocked on the door. When I opened the door, he forced himself in, locked the door and dragged me to the bedroom where he sexually assaulted me,” the woman told the police.

The nightmare for the victim did not end there. Nagraj tried to kill her by strangulating her. But he ran away when she raised an alarm. He escaped with her jewellery, the woman complained to the police.

Following the complaint, the police booked a case under Sections 376, 307 and 397 and arrested the accused.
