Hyderabad car dealer held from Goa for cheating bank
A case was registered against Saket Talwar after it was found that he obtained Rs 95 lakh bank loan in the guise of delivering a new car
HYDERABAD: The owner of Talwar Cars Private Limited at Banjara Hills was apprehended from a villa in Goa by the Hyderabad Central Crime Station police for allegedly cheating a bank to the tune of Rs 95 lakh in the guise of delivering a new luxury car.
The accused, Saket Talwar, 41, was arrested on Sunday following a complaint from the senior manager of Canara Bank, Sultan Bazaar branch.
“A case was registered against Saket Talwar of Talwar Cars Pvt Ltd and others after it was found that they had obtained Rs 95 lakh bank loan in the guise of delivering a new car and diverted the amount. Talwar cheated several banks and other financial institutions by furnishing fake, fabricated invoices, insurance certificates, creating fake temporary registrations and chassis numbers,” the police stated.
“There are eight cases registered against him and his company M/s. Talwar Cars Pvt. Ltd, Banjara Hills, including two cases in CCS, three cases at Banjara Hills, one case at Panjagutta, one case at Jubilee Hills and one case at Miyapur, Cyberabad,” said the police.
On Sunday, a team from the CCS, Hyderabad, apprehended Talwar from a villa in Arambol Beach, Goa, and brought him to Hyderabad. He was later produced before court here for judicial remand.
