Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will deliver the 67th Sardar Patel Memorial Lecture on Tuesday, with Akashvani scheduled to broadcast it nationwide on October 31, marking Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's birth anniversary.

Akashvani has organised the annual lecture series since 1955 to commemorate the country's first deputy prime minister and minister of information and broadcasting, remembered as the architect of national integration.

The inaugural lecture was delivered by C. Rajagopalachari, independent India's first Governor-General.

The information and broadcasting ministry said the series had provided a platform for eminent leaders, scientists and historians to share their views on India's culture, development and national priorities.

The ministry described the lectures as a valuable repository of ideas and knowledge contributing to an understanding of the country.
