15 Indians Killed in Vietnam Mishap Flown Home
The governments of the victims' home states would coordinate with their families for the onward transportation of their mortal remains from Mumbai airport to their respective destinations, the mission said.

Vijayawada: The mortal remains of all the 15 Indians who died in the Vietnam tourist boat tragedy were being flown into the Mumbai airport by Vietnamese flight VN979 on Monday night.
According to AP Bhavan authorities, civil aviation minister Ram Mohan Naidu in consultation with the Indian embassy in Vietnam have made arrangements for transshipment of the mortal remains from Vietnam.
Officials said it might take five to six hours for completion of customs, medical and documentation formalities at the Mumbai airport before passage to the respective destinations. The governments of Tamil Nadu and Kerala have engaged a private agency, John Pinto International, Mumbai, to ensure seamless handling of the mortal remains.
The Andhra Pradesh government has made similar arrangements and the handling agency would transport the mortal remains of the three victims to Hyderabad at a consolidated cost of `43,000 per body, including air transportation.
The three coffins are tentatively scheduled to depart from Mumbai airport by an Indigo flight 6E6362 at 5.45am July 14 and reach Hyderabad at 7.20am Tuesday, subject to completion of formalities.
APTDC’s general manager Chandana Nancharaiah is proceeding to Mumbai to oversee payments and transshipment arrangements and district collectors have been requested to keep the bereaved families informed about the revised schedules.
The AP Bhavan has been monitoring the entire operation round the clock and remains in constant touch with the civil aviation ministry, Indian embassy, the Mumbai airport authorities, the handling agency and state governments.
