Airtel Hikes Postpaid Tariffs By ₹50, Bundles Free Annual International Roaming
Airtel has raised postpaid tariffs by ₹50 from October 8 while offering customers free international roaming for one overseas trip each year.
India’s second-largest telecom player Bharti Airtel on Wednesday announced that it raised tariffs for its post-paid plans by Rs 50, but provided free international roaming for their customers on all post-paid users, with the benefit applicable to one international trip every year.
As per the company’s monthly plan, now individual users will start at Rs 499, while Rs 749 for two people, Rs 1,049 for three people, Rs 1,249 and Rs 1,449 for four people, and Rs 1,799 for five people in a family. The new plans will come into effect on October 8, 2026, and existing post-paid subscribers will be moved to the nearest higher plan within a month, the company sources said.
However, the company sources said that Airtel is bundling an international roaming benefit with the revised plans. The company has valued the free roaming benefit at around Rs 2,000, making the offer particularly relevant for customers who travel overseas at least once a year.
“From October 8, 2026, customers can enjoy one international trip with free roaming every year with these new postpaid plans, along with all existing benefits,” the company said in a release.
As per the company, the complimentary roaming pack includes 5GB of data, 60 minutes of calls, 25 outgoing SMS and free incoming SMS, valid for five days. Customers can activate the pack whenever they choose. On family plans, every member is eligible for the free roaming benefit.
“Free international roaming is the latest addition to Airtel Postpaid plans, which come with a superior experience through fast lane technology, unlimited data, and network-level protection against spam and fraudulent links," the company said.
"Customers can also enjoy a range of entertainment subscriptions and access to exclusive experiences through the Airtel Postpaid Advantage Club, including comedy shows, movie premieres and concerts,” it added.
