Indians were elated when authorities in the UAE decided to light up the Burj Khalifa in Dubai with the colours of the Indian tricolour to mark India’s 68th Republic Day at a time when Abu Dhabi’s crown prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was a chief guest in Delhi.

As everyone was celebrating and admiring this gesture, images like the ones purportedly showing India on Diwali made it to the internet and were tweeted by none other than Puducherry Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi. The tweet contained morphed images of monuments like Big Ben, Leaning Tower of Pisa, Twin Towers, Statue of Liberty and others covered in colours of the Indian flag.

This error in judgment caused Kiran Bedi a lot of embarrassment as twitterati was quick to come up with the most hilarious response to this mix up.

Kiran Bedi had been out of the spotlight for some time after BJP’s loss to Arvind Kejriwal’s Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi by a big margin.
