Touching Facebook post describes friendship between Indian and Pakistani children

They meet every day after school on the banks of a river running between India and Pakistan.

The tensions between India and Pakistan are at the centre of a heated debate on news channels and the social media, as war mongering is on the rise while attempts are being made to send a message of peace as well.

The tensions have also affected art and cinema with a ban on Pakistani artists getting different reactions from Bollywood celebrities. Amid all the buzz in the social media, people near the border are the ones facing consequences of war.

Innocent children are the ones that provide hope for a better future, even as it’s their future that is put in jeopardy by conflicts. A Facebook post from Pakistan tells about two friends who meet each other everyday standing on both sides of a river which runs between the two countries.

They compete by comparing whose stone skips the farthest while grownups are hurling hateful comments and accusations against each other. For them their friendship and meeting the nameless friend across the gushing river is beyond the rising hostility.
