When six-month-old puppy Wesley’s adult teeth started coming out, his owner Molly Moore noticed that something was wrong. The normally active golden retriever was unable to close his mouth fully, which made him stop playing with his toys and even start losing weight. But then Molly’s father, who is specialist veterinary dentistry, came up with a brilliant solution – dog braces.
Dr. Moore says that Wesley’s condition is called malocclusion in which teeth are not able to fit comfortably when the mouth is shut. He explains that these special braces will actually help this sweet puppy have a healthier smile.
Photos of Wesley’s new ‘look’ have gone viral after Molly posted them on Facebook. And don’t worry, the little tyke needs to wear these braces for only a few weeks.
