Thiruvananthapuram to host Braille 'Vidyarambham' on Tuesday

Thiruvananthapuram: The National Federation of Blind (NFB) will organise a Braille ‘Vidyarambham’ in the city for those deprived of vision from 9 a.m.  on October 11, Vijayadasami day.  It will be held at the federation office at the National Association for the Blind, Kerala MRA 80, Manjadivila Road, Plamood, here.  Those interested should contact numbers  9495221985, 9447712034 or 9495124930  and register their names before Sunday.

The NFB is a non-profit organisation working for the empowerment of people with visual problems.  Such people irrespective of their age can take part in the Vidyarambham. A federation source said  the programme was being held to highlight  the importance of Braille as a tool for the empowerment of the visually challenged. Those who have problems with their vision would benefit from learning Braille, the source said.
