Longitude 77 Makes Hyderabad Push With Exclusive Tasting at Novotel Hyderabad Airport

Hyderabad: Longitude 77, Pernod Ricard India's award winning Indian Single Malt Whisky is set to take over the top shelves of Indian Single Malt market, as it expands its footprints to the royal city of Hyderabad.
Stylised as L77, the liquor will be part of the Seagrams label from the house of Pernod Ricard India. With Indian Single Malt gaining global attention, the Longitude 77, featuring the map of India would be the Seagram's flag bearer for this category.
At an exclusive tasting masterclass session held at the Novotel in Hyderabad Airport, L77's brand ambassador, Spirits expert Abhinav Dewan said that the "Longitude 77 attempts to capture the spirit of Kashmir to Kanyakumari."
"The longitudinal coordinate 77 is the longest line that runs North to South of India," he added. Aiming to take India’s name to global prominence, L77 represents the spirit of the country.
L77 has impressed the world famous whiskey critic and journalist Jim Murray, and has compelled him to include a chapter about Indian Single Malts in his upcoming edition of the “Whiskey Bible”.
The Indian single malt whisky, is distilled from the finest six-row barley, and then aged and bottled under the supervision of Master distiller Mahesh Patil, at the Seagrams Distillery in Nashik. It is double distilled in short copper stills to maintain the original flavour before aging in bourbon casks, and then wine casks.
The flavour profile of the L77 follows a distinctive caramel sweetness, with hints of spices including cinnamon, nutmeg. The drink underplays on smokiness, making it smoother to enjoy on the rocks, or to make cocktails with Indian tropical fruits.
The tasting session on Friday that was held at the Socialzz Food Exchange in Novotel RGIA offered a curated combinations of cocktails and food to the attendees by Master Chef Amanna Raju, that included flavors from India’s North to South, including Saffron, Kokum, Pepper Cinnamon, Coconut, and much more.
