Wafi, Ashish, Saikrishna Are Top Shows in Hyderabad Cricket League

Hyderabad:The Hyderabad Cricket Association’s ‘A’ Division league produced strong performances, highlighted by Wafi Kachchhi’s unbeaten double century and Ashish Srivastav’s eight-wicket haul on Thursday.

Wafi produced the day’s outstanding batting performance, remaining unbeaten on 218 from 263 balls, including 26 fours and two sixes, as UBI amassed 461/7 in 90 overs against Charminar. Tarun Rajan provided powerful support with 148 from 149 balls, striking 11 fours and nine sixes. Wafi’s teammate Tarun Rajan made 148.

Ashish Srivastav took 8/66 for Deccan Wanderers against Combined District-2 for the division’s standout bowling performance. His figures read 14.3-0-66-8.

Imperial also dominated with 428/6, where Aryan Krishna remained unbeaten on 171 and Ajay Dev Goud contributed a rapid 123 from just 117 balls.

Jasrith Reddy made a patient 117 for Combined District-2; Hrishikesh Simha struck 111 for Balaaji. Vidyananda Reddy produced the other major bowling effort, claiming 5/11 as SBI reduced Hyderabad Bottling to 98/6 while defending 151.

The ‘B’ Division delivered an extraordinary batting-heavy opening day, with Postal’s N. Jyothi Saikrishna producing the highest individual score — 228 not out from 256 balls. Income Tax were even more aggressive in their accumulation, declaring on 471/7 after N. Narendra Bhute’s astonishing 187 from just 96 balls featuring 19 fours and 13 sixes. B. Sandeep made 130.

Medak District, Deccan Arsenals and several other sides also posted commanding totals above 400. P. Lohith Reddy made 180 for Medak, while Rajveer Thapar and M. Manoj Kumar scored 179 and 139 respectively for Deccan Arsenals. Trishik Gupta’s 152, Syed Abubakker Siddque’s 131 and K. Sree Avinash’s 112 further underlined the strength of the day’s batting. The most explosive successful chase came from Hyderabad Titans, who reached 197/1 in only 29.3 overs after Shiva Rama Krishna Terli smashed 108 from 87 balls, including seven sixes.

In another match, Khush Agarwal made 100 from 114 balls with 15 fours and two sixes as Mahadev reached 419/9 in 90 overs.

Bowling also had a major impact, particularly in the lower-scoring matches. Mote Varun Tej, Ved Reddy and S. Sai Pranav all claimed six wickets, while Katta Akhil’s outstanding 5/16 was the best five-wicket spell by economy and runs conceded. K Jaga Dheeraj Reddy, T. Ashvith, M. Uday Kiran, V. Aryan Reddy, M. Koushik Reddy and B. Sakshith Ram also recorded five-wicket hauls.
