Veteran actor Zarina Wahab is having an exceptionally busy period, with three Hindi film releases arriving in quick succession this month. A familiar and respected face across both Bollywood and the South Indian film industries, the actor is currently looking forward to the release of films including ‘Rajni Ki Baraat’ and ‘Hum Angrezon Ke Zamane Ke Jailor Hai’.

However, despite her enthusiasm to actively promote her projects, Zarina was forced to miss the premiere screening of ‘Rajni Ki Baraat’ due to an unexpected health issue.

Speaking about her absence, she said, “I am extremely sorry. I was so keen to attend the screening of ‘Rajni Ki Baraat’, especially its premiere, but all of a sudden I suffered food poisoning and I am also running a high temperature. So I had to give it a miss.”

The actor expressed confidence in the film and praised its makers for their dedication.

“I hope my film, RKB, works wonders at the box office as the film has been made honestly, and the debut producer has given her heart and soul to this movie,” she says.

Although recovering from illness, Zarina is determined to watch the film with audiences once she regains her strength.

“Though I feel very weak, within one or two days, as soon as I get better, I will definitely go and watch the film in theatres,” she adds.

Apart from ‘Rajni Ki Baraat’, Zarina will also be seen alongside veteran actor Asrani in what is being described as his final lead film, ‘Hum Angrezon Ke Zamane Ke Jailor Hai’.

In ‘Rajni Ki Baraat’, Zarina portrays a loving grandmother to the character played by Ulka Gupta. Her character showers her granddaughter with affection, often slipping her pocket money whenever she heads to college. At the same time, she imparts important life lessons, giving the film an emotional core and a message that resonates with young audiences.

Despite missing a key promotional event, Zarina remains optimistic about her films and is eager to see audiences embrace them on the big screen.
