Five top singers to sing a Telugu song

In a one-of-its-kind collaboration, five of the best singers in the country — K.J. Yesudaas, S.P. Balasubramanyam, Hariharan, Kailash Kher and Bombay Jayashri — have been roped in to do a Telugu song for the upcoming film Saakshyam.

Directed by Sriwaas, the film has Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas and Pooja Hegde playing the lead pair. Music for the film has been composed by Harshavardhan Rameshwar, who has previously composed music for the hit film Arjun Reddy.

“The film is based on the five elements — Earth, fire, water, air and space. It’s a unique script and the music director wanted to have the five top singers of the country sing a particular song which talks about the five elements,” says Abhishek Nama, the producer of the film.

Young lyric writer Ananth Sriram has written the special song. “It is for the first time that five top singers are singing one song, and I am happy that it is happening in my film. They all agreed to do the song after hearing its theme,” Abhishek adds.

The film is scheduled to be released on July 20. “Initially, we wanted to release it in June, but the graphics work is not done yet, so we don’t want to hurry the release. The team that worked on Baahubali is the one that is working on my film’s graphics as well,” Abhishek reveals, adding that the special song will be the highlight of the film.
