118 is based on true incidents

Actor Kalyanram is once again playing a journalist, in his upcoming film 118. “I played a journalist in my last film as well, but in this one, my role is that of an investigative journalist. It is an exciting story based on a real incident from my director K.V. Guhan’s life,” says KalyanRam. This film is going to be  Guhan's debut as a director.

The actor refuses to reveal the story but says that the director has done justice to the narrative. The story revolves around actress Nivetha Thomas and it’s mostly a screenplay-based film. It’s a thriller but there are no supernatural elements in it,” he says.  He also added that the title 118 suits the story perfectly. “Initially, we did consider other titles like Anveshana or Rakshana, but those did not sound as appealing. Finally, we decided to name the film 118,” says Kalyanram. In response to another query, the actor clarifies that this film does not target any political issues whatsoever. “It’s a normal film that will keep you engaged till the end,” he says.

The Pataas star also mentioned that he had to learn how to swim to shoot for this film. “We did a three-day shoot in the waters in Mumbai, and I learned how to swim to shoot for those scenes.” He further says that he always wanted to do something new in all his films. “Irrespective of the result, I am constantly trying to experiment and deliver something new. I am very confident that our audience is going to love 118. And I don’t want to give out spoilers, but the last 30 minutes of the film will leave the audience overwhelmed,” he says. Kalyanram also mentioned to us in brief about a web series he’s working on. “It's a teenage love story that I’m producing, and I shall announce all the details about it soon,” says the Jayeebhava actor.
