Actor Sudheer Babu will soon be testing his luck as a producer with his forthcoming film, Nannu Dochukunduvate.  “I am confident that the film will strike a chord at the box-office,” he shares, adding, “Turning into a producer has always been on the cards, but I was so fascinated with director Rajasekhar’s script that I wanted to bankroll it myself. In my early days of showbiz, I heard interesting scripts but couldn’t find any takers to produce the films. That’s when I realised how significant it is to get someone to back a film.”

Despite having brother-in-law Mahesh Babu and father-in-law Krishna in the industry, Sudheer says that he loves being independent. “As an actor. I have learnt things the hard way and that’s how I want to learn as a producer too,” he states.

The Sammohanam star says that his earlier acting experience has helped him with production too. “I learnt the nuances of filmmaking as an actor and that experience came in handy as a producer for this film. Also, since every film is a learning experience, we try to rectify our mistakes in our successive films,” shares Sudheer, whose role in the upcoming romantic entertainer will be a first-of-its-kind for him.

“I play a guy who is very goal-oriented; someone who doesn’t have any emotions and is not bothered about his staff in the office. The best part of my character is that it is relatable to today’s generation. The film is a love story blended with emotions and humour,” he explains.

Describing the film’s leading lady Nabha Natesh as a livewire, the actor adds, “Nabha is here to stay and she’ll go places for sure. The exuberance that surrounds her is phenomenal.”

Prod the actor on the kind of scripts he has been choosing of late, which includes staying away from action-oriented characters, and Sudheer says, “I am trying to break the mould and surprise the audience with roles that they believe I may not take up. Such roles will add to my repertoire.”
