After the success of Pelli Choopulu, director Tharun Bhascker has taken a long time to prepare for his second film Ee Nagaraniki Emayindi.

“While thinking about my next project, I met Suresh Babu, but he left it to me. I was scared because all the responsibility was on me. Then I decided to do a story which was related to us. I come from a short film making background, like many other directors today. Since I know the difficulties and the journey, I decided to make a film on this subject,” reveals Bhascker.

“After I wrote the story, Suresh Babu gave his nod immediately which shocked even me because I had heard that he never gives his nod for any film that easily. When I told him that half of the film shoot is in Goa and the other half is in Hyderabad, he told us to have fun in Goa like a vacation,” says Tharun about the shooting of the film.

He adds, “The entire team became my second family after working with them. Everyone could connect to the story, especially since it actually happened between me and my friends. The title was also suggested by my friend.”

The film is releasing on June 29, a date that Tharun is sentimental about. “My first film Pelli Choopulu released on July 29 and this film is on June 29, so it’s a sentimental date for me,” says the director, adding that he is introducing a few people with this film and everyone has done justice to their part.

“I am confident that I made a good film. We have already screened it for many people and they all loved it,” he says.
