Eesha Rebba to debut in Hindi
DECCAN CHRONICLE | Sashidhar Adivi
Now, this is big news! Amidst constant criticism that Telugu actresses do not get enough opportunities in Tollywood, actress Eesha Rebba has pulled off something worth discussing.
The Raagala 24 Gantallo star has been cast as the leading lady in a yet-untitled Hindi film, starring Harshvardhan Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor’s brother.
Screenwriter and actor Raj Singh Chaudhary, who won the National Award for his work in the film, Antardwand, will direct the film.
Although an official announcement is yet to be made with regard to this project, sources tell us that the filmmaker, who was already impressed with Eesha’s work, invited her for an audition and instantly gave her the go ahead.
"The role is a strong one and demands an actress to be her natural self. Raj Singh found the exact trait in Eesha Rebba and finalised her," the source close to the development articulated, adding that Eesha was just as elated to bag her first Hindi film. The film, which revolves around women empowerment, will have Eesha playing a Rajasthani girl in it.
"As the role has a wide emotional arch, the filmmaker believes Eesha’s natural ability to pull off the role with élan will be a huge asset. The actress will soon start the paperwork for the film," adds the source.
