I did a lot of research: Akash Puri
The actor studied the characteristics and behaviour of army men to get into character for his debut film Mehbooba.
Akash Puri is all set to make his debut in his father Puri Jagannadh’s film Mehbooba, which releases this Friday.
“My father usually comes up with love stories that are a bit different. I am sure this will be one of the best love stories in Tollywood,” Akash says.
He adds that people who have seen the film have said that it is nothing like the films Puri Jagannadh usually makes.
“That’s why I say that I am introducing my father with this film.”
He reveals the film is the love story of a Pakistani girl and an Indian boy against a military backdrop.
Talking about how he prepared for the lead role, he says “Initially, I wasn’t sure if I would be suitable for the role. But I did a lot of research on army men, their behaviour, how they walk, how they talk, how they salute — everything! It took me some time to get into character.”
Akash says that though he has had an opportunity to work with film stars as a child actor, he has never imitated anyone.
“I have never aimed to copy any actor. But I am crazy about superstar Rajinikanth — he is my God, my inspiration!” he says.
