Though superstar Mahesh Babu is quite apolitical, he seems to a soft target for political parties. Recently, GST officials attached his bank accounts over an old tax case and even though names of other people who avoided paying taxes were on the list, only Mahesh Babu’s name was publicly announced to shame him.

With BJP and TDP at loggerhead, and Mahesh Babu’s brother-in-law Jay Galla being a prominent TDP MP, maybe there’s political pressure to embarrass the family. Jay Galla says, “As a high profile star, he has been targetted for cheap publicity. It’s too early to comment anything else at this stage, as the matter is still pending in court. However, it’s unfortunate that the tax authorities attached their bank accounts without any prior notice, and have publicised it, while the case was still pending in court.”

Sadly, Mahesh Babu’s problems seem far from over. His uncle and Krishna’s brother, G. Adiseshagiri Rao, who was in YSRCP earlier, recently switched to the TDP and is likely to contest in the coming elections. With knives drawn between the TDP, YSRCP and the BJP, the actor may well be targeted in the near future too, predicts a source.

Interestingly, Mahesh Babu has always maintained good relations with the Telangana Government, especially K.T. Rama Rao. The actor has also adopted two villages from both the Telugu speaking states.

Yet, he fears being targeted by the opponent political parties.
