Naina Ganguly to play a lawyer

So far, audiences have seen Naina Ganguly in glitzy roles. But that’s set to change now with her forthcoming film, Malli Modalaindi, in which Naina will be seen as a lawyer, wearing sarees and kurtas throughout the film.

Speaking to us about the Keerthi-Kumar directorial, starring Sumanth, Naina says she’s excited to flaunt her new side to audiences. “I am happy I am doing different genres of films now. This, for instance, is the first time I am in a family genre,” says the actress who recently also acted in the sports drama, Johar.

The actress’ role in Malli Modalaindi is apparently an author back one. "I play an independent woman who lives life on her own terms,” Naina explains adding that it’s a very realistic and a serious character.

Glad to have bagged a performance-oriented role with a serious, non-glamorous and yet different role, the actress tells us she did a lot of research in prepping for the role. “The director too gave me references to get my part right,” the actress explains.
