Riverdale, as the name suggests, is loosely based on the Archie comics that children of the 90s lapped up vicariously but the real truth is far from it. What you can expect to be same are the four main characters – Archie, Veronica, Betty  and Jughead. Set in the picturesque town of Riverdale, the series starts with the murder Jason Blossom and how the four  deal with it. Each episode is directed by different individuals, though Lee Toland Krieger has directed most. We are introduced to the girl-next-door Betty, her crush, neighbour Archie, and Veronica. All this is narrated by Forsythe ‘Jughead’ Jones III who is the son of FP Jones, the leader of the Southside Serpents. The four join together to find Jason’s killer (aka Clifford Blossom). A love story brews between Archie-Veronica and Betty-Jughead.  Season One ended with the killer being revealed. In Season 2 Archie’s character undergoes a change. Cheryl Blossom, who is Queen Bee also sees a character change too. Who we don’t see much of are Josie and Pussy
cats, Reggie and Southside Serpents. The best part of this show is that they have managed to take such a lovable and endearing comic series and made it into something that every Archie fan is able to relate too. With Season 2 just coming to an end, Season 3 set for October, there is more spunk and mystery left.
