Prabhas’ Fauji Gets Delayed as Makers Rework Content?

Reigning star Prabhas’ much-hyped Fauji is reportedly set to be postponed from its announced December 3, 2026 theatrical release date. “It will be deferred,” says a source, adding, “The team is rechecking the canned sequences and is working on a few corrections. They want to release the film at the appropriate time.”

The Hanu Raghavapudi directorial is now being pushed to 2027, with March emerging as a possible release window. The film had officially locked December 3 earlier this year, but its prolonged production schedule has now triggered fresh uncertainty around the release.

“Nowadays, content is key, and with hundreds of crores at stake, the makers don’t want to take any chances. To ensure a wholehearted response from the audience, the film will be reworked a bit. Prabhas has also discussed the matter and did not mind a new release window,” the source adds.

While an official statement from the makers is still awaited, internal sources indicate that the postponement has already been communicated among the producers. The sudden shift comes as a shock to fans, especially after producers Y Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni recently reaffirmed twice that the war drama would hit screens on December 3 without delay. The exact reasons behind the abrupt change, however, remain unclear for now until the makers disclose it.

In recent times, several pan-India films have been pushed from their announced release dates, with makers unwilling to take chances on projects involving massive investments. Toxic, for instance, was postponed but failed to connect with audiences, while Pushpa: The Rise delivered a strong box-office performance despite its postponement.
