Anand Deverakonda, Vaishnavi Chaitanya Relationship Rumours Rubbished
He believes audiences who have experienced the challenges of adapting to life abroad will particularly connect with the film.
Anand Devarakonda has dismissed rumours about a romantic relationship with actress Vaishnavi Chaitanya, saying the two are “just good friends.”
The speculation gained traction after the duo worked together in Baby, which went on to become a major success. With Anand and Vaishnavi now teaming up again for EPIC – First Semester, the rumours appear to have resurfaced.
“Since EPIC is our second film together, such rumours may have started. We are just good friends,” Anand said.
The actor revealed that their friendship developed during the making of Baby. While acknowledging that he and Vaishnavi share good chemistry on screen, he suggested that their choice of films and the nature of their characters may have contributed to the speculation surrounding them.
The two actors are now set to reunite in EPIC – First Semester, which is scheduled to hit screens on September 11. Unlike Baby, the upcoming film is set against a different backdrop and explores the experiences of youngsters who leave India to pursue education and career opportunities abroad.
Anand also addressed the perception surrounding EPIC, clarifying that the film is not as bold or adult-oriented as some sections of the audience might assume. According to him, the story is essentially relatable and focuses on the experiences of youngsters from modest backgrounds who move to countries such as the US and UK for studies or work.
He believes audiences who have experienced the challenges of adapting to life abroad will particularly connect with the film.
For now, Anand and Vaishnavi appear keen to keep their equation exactly where they say it is — that of close friends and co-stars reuniting for their second film.
