Thrissur: The Vigilance Court here on Saturday ordered a quick verification into the alleged land encroachment by actor Dileep for the construction of his multiplex theatre complex ‘D Cinemaas’ at  Chalakudy. Dileep and former Thrissur collector M.S. Jaya are the respondents in a complaint filed by anti-corruption activist P.D. Joseph. The court has sought a QV report by September 13 in the investigation  to be conducted by the DySP of Vigilance unit in Thrissur.

The petitioner said in his plaint that the actor with the help of revenue officials had encroached on as many as 85 cents of government land for D-Cinemaas complex. The survey department had conducted a re-survey at Chalak-udy to confirm the encroachments as alleged. The survey report is expected to be out on Tuesday.

Following the details sought by revenue minister E. Chandr-asekharan, district collector A. Koswsigan had submitted a report which said that more inspections needed to be conducted on field and in the revenue records to confirm the encroachments. Ms M.S. Jaya allegedly gave a report to the land revenue commissioner in favour of Dileep when the complaint was first raised in 2014, Mr Joseph  said in his complaint. The court will decide  on registering an FIR on the complaint after verifying QV report.
