Manchu Manoj Denies Arrest Rumors, Calls Out Harassment
Actor claims false cases filed against him, vows to fight back
Amidst rumors of being taken into custody, actor Manchu Manoj dismissed the claims, stating that he voluntarily visited the police station. In a video statement, he shared his distress over his ongoing efforts for the welfare of students at Mohan Babu University and the well-being of local vendors near the campus.
Expressing his anguish, Manoj said, "I have endured immense pain, but I will not back down. I will fight till the very end."
He revealed that his father and others had filed over 32 cases against him and his wife, Mounika, in multiple locations, including Delhi, Hyderabad, and Tirupati. Calling these cases "bogus," he asserted, "The truth is on my side."
Manoj also alleged that bouncers at the university were mistreating people in the surrounding areas. "Instead of addressing these serious issues, they are trying to tarnish my image with false accusations and legal battles," he stated.
He further claimed that local police were reluctant to take his complaints, hinting at deliberate delays. Additionally, he recounted a troubling encounter with an intelligence officer who claimed to be from the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s office.
"While I was staying at a resort near Tirupati, this officer and his team arrived at night, disturbing my dinner with friends and questioning me. When I asked about the Chief Minister, the officer suddenly changed his version, saying he was from the CM’s security detail," he recalled.
Determined to address the situation, Manoj said he visited the Bhakarapeta police station along with the officer and his team. "I entered the station, but the SI (Sub-Inspector) did not follow me inside and instead left the premises. I spoke to the head constable, requested they summon the SI, but he did not respond. I demanded to know why they were harassing me and those around me," he added.
Manoj insisted that the entire incident was recorded on the police station’s CCTV and urged the media to verify the footage. "There have been misleading reports about this incident. I want to clarify—there was no arrest, just a visit to the police station. I am now planning to meet the SP (Superintendent of Police) and expose this harassment," he concluded.
