While the Telugu audience has seen actor Suriya very often on the big screen, this time around they are set to experience something new as his upcoming film Gang hits the screens next Friday. Despite several hits in Telugu in the past, the actor hasn't ever dubbed for himself ever in the language. However, Gang sees Suriya speak in his own voice for the first time ever on Telugu screen.

Speaking about the same, the actor shares, "I love the sound of the Telugu language. In fact, I'd say it has been an incredible experience to dub in it. I wouldn't say it was easy and it did take a bit of time too but I have tried my best to sound perfect." Interestingly, his brother, Karthi took the plunge a bit earlier and has been dubbing for himself in all his Telugu dubbed films since Awaara.

Meanwhile, elaborating on the film itself, Suriya shares that he's excited to b a part of a new genre. "Gang is a completely new film for me in terms of genre. It's a heist drama based on a true robbery incident where we weaved in other important issues we were keen to address. I am glad I collaborated with director Vignesh Shivan because this has been a chance to witness new age filmmaking," he states. Titled Thaanaa Serndha Koottam in Tamil, the film stars Keerthy Suresh as the female lead and has music by Anirudh Ravichander.
