A hilarious slip of the tongue stole the show at the grand Ramayana: Part 1 pre-release event in Hyderabad on October 19!
Telugu mega-producer Dil Raju, while announcing his company’s distribution of the mythological epic in the Telugu states, goofed up big time while praising the lead star.
Calling it his third collaboration with Ranbir after Brahmastra and Animal, Dil Raju declared, “One of the best actors, the best hero is Ranbir Singh garu... sorry, Ranbir Kapoor garu!”
He corrected himself instantly and apologised, drawing amused cheers from the audience. Ranbir, seated in the front row, took the gaffe sportingly with a smile.
Speaking to this writer, Dil Raju brushed off the fuss. “It was a genuine slip of the tongue. No offence meant, none taken. There’s no need to make an issue of it.”
Dil Raju wasn’t alone! Karan Johar reportedly forgot the name of Rakul Preet Singh’s character in Ramayana and later apologised to the actress backstage. Rakul took it in good humour too.
