Sundaram, who had assisted ace cinematographer-filmmaker Jeeva, is making his debut as a director with July Kaatril, a romantic drama whose title is inspired by a song from Jeeva’s 2007 film Unnale Unnale.

Anant Nag, who’s played important roles in films like Neram, Premam, and Amara Kaaviyam, will be seen playing the protagonist, while Anju Kurien of Chennai 2 Singapore fame and Samyukta Menon, whose debut film Kalari is yet to release, play the female leads. Comedian Satish and Paloma Monappa are members of the supporting cast.

Talking about his film, Sundaram says, “The story is about how the younger generation perceives love today, and how they effectively deal with various situations, including break-ups.”
