Tom Hardy to star in Spider Man spin-off Venom

Venom has been one of Marvel's top villains and a Spider-Man fixture since he was introduced in 1988.

Mumbai: DC's 'Bane' is going to be Marvel's 'Venom'.

The official Twitter handle of Sony Pictures shared the news of Hardy, starring in upcoming 'Spider Man's spin-called 'Venom'.

They captioned the snap, "Tom Hardy is Eddie Brock in #Venom, the upcoming film from Sony's Marvel Universe releasing October 5, 2018 - production starts this fall."

The 'Revenant' star will play Eddie Brock, the character who first became Venom.

While, Ruben Fleischer, best known for directing ' Zombieland,' is in final negotiations to helm the movie project centering on one of 'Spider-Man's signature villains, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The movie is on top priority and the studio is not wasting time as the movie is set to open October 5, 2018.

Venom has been one of Marvel's top villains and a Spider-Man fixture since he was introduced in 1988, created by writer David Michelinie and artists Todd McFarlane and Mike Zeck.

Scott Rosenberg, who worked on 2014s 'The Amazing Spider Man 2' and Jeff Pinkner, wrote the script for Venom.

Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing, along with Amy Pascal.

Plot details are still not out, yet.
