Fanney Khan film: When Priyanka's loss is Aishwarya's gain

Mumbai: When Priyanka flew to India for Christmas-New Year’s break, there were several reports that Priyanka Chopra has met director-producer Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for his next production ‘Fanney Khan’.

However, the actress is rumoured to have turned down the offer because of its bad script. However, her spokesperson did not confirm the news.

It was also learnt that when curiosity about who is playing the female lead in ‘Fanney Khan’ grew, PeeCee even refuted the news around it.

Finally, Mehra went with his script to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, who has liked the script and given her nod to it, and now will be filming ‘Fanney Khan’ under Rakeysh’s banner.

Is it safe to say that Aishwarya has replaced Priyanka in’Fanney Khan’?

However, the makers of 'Fanney Khan' retort back saying, "Fanney Khan is Anil Kapoor sir only. The film is only his. Once the audience sees it that will surely vouch for it. Similarly, since KriArj came on board, the female lead was and is only meant for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. She is my 1st and last choice !!! It's a mind-blowing combination and a dream come true."

Other than ‘Fanney…,’ Ash will also be seen in two other films- one with Kriaj and the other with Mani Ratnam. Priyanka, on the other hand, is currently shooting for her second Hollywood film ‘A Kid Like Jake’ that also stars Jim Parsons, Claire Danes and Octavia Spencer. The ‘Baywatch’ star is also rumoured to star in ‘Isn’t It Romantic’ alongside Rebel Wilson, Adam Devine and Liam Hemsworth.
