A few months ago, there was news that Deepika Padukone was all set to do a superhero film. Rumour also had it that Ranveer Singh too was slated to do a superhero film for his mentor Aditya Chopra. However it seems that DeepVeer fans will have to wait for their favourite stars to don the cape, for as it stands now, there is nothing happening on the superhero front for either actor. “The story of Deepika doing a superhero or superheroine film was out last year when Padmaavat released. It was just to assert her superheroine status in Bollywood. As of now, what we hear is that there is no script with Deepika for the same, unless someone approaches her with one,” says a trade source.

As for husband Ranveer Singh, it was being said that he had discussions with folks back at Yash Raj Films to mount a superhero film. But apparently, the actor has no time as of now. “Ranveer is too busy at the moment to work in a superhero film. If a normal film takes around 40 days to complete, a big budget film takes 60-80 days, and a superhero film takes 120 days in the making and Ranveer has a packed schedule. He is busy with Kabir Khan’s ‘83 and Karan Johar’s Takht, in 2019,” says the source, and adds, “There is buzz about him getting into another deal with YRF, but that’s not confirmed yet. Once that is confirmed, maybe we can have some clarity.”
