In the wake of the outrage against Navjot Singh Sidhu for acting “over-friendly” with Pakistani politicians, actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha has come out in his support, saying that peace between the two countries is a must.

“I have repeatedly defended the right to fight for peace. What’s so wrong about Sidhu’s gesture of goodwill?” he asks, adding, “I have been to Pakistan many times. In fact, I have a muh boli behen (sworn sister) there — former president Zia-ul-Haq’s daughter, Zian. Because of de-escalating relations between the two countries, I haven’t been able to meet her for a few years now. I will miss her on this Raksha Bandhan.”
