Shraddha Kapoor throws her weight around, quite literally. She gained some substantial kilos to portray the role of Haseena Parkar. Shraddha has gone the distance to ensure her first real-life character as fugitive crime lord Dawood Ibrahim’s sister Haseena Parkar is as authentic as possible.

Since she had to age on screen from 17 to 45, Shraddha had to gain up to 10 kg to look the part. Director Apoorva Lakhia suggested padding, but she thought it would look fake.

“She didn’t want to strike a single false note in Haseena. She aims to get the National award for this performance,” reveals a source from the film’s team.

Luckily, she was not doing any other film while she worked on the Haseena Parkar biopic, and so was able to give the role the heft it required. But now having gone the mile, Shraddha is finding it hard to lose those extra pounds.

“Gaining all that weight was easy, but losing it is not. Even though Shraddha is struggling with her weight she thinks it was all worth it,” says the source.
