Mumbai: Bollywood megastar Aamir Khan, who will next be seen donning a quirky avatar in 'Secret Superstar', hopes he is not like Shakti Kumaarr in real life.

At the recently held special screening of the film, the 'Dangal' star was asked if he has any similar quality as his character, to which he replied, "Shakti Kumaarr is a completely different character. I am just not like him, I hope!"

Present at the screening were celebs like Anil Kapoor, Sachin Tendulkar, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Rajkummar Rao, among others, who were all praises for the film.

Happy with the response, the 52-year-old said, "I am glad that people are liking it so much, but I am waiting for the audience's reaction after the film releases on October 19."

Also present at the screening was Aamir's mother Zeenat Hussain, who 'really liked' the film and her son's acting.

"Every daughter should see the film with her mother. I cried watching the emotional journey. I liked Aamir's work as he has beautifully portrayed his character," she told media.

'Secret Superstar' is a film essentially based on music with the lead protagonist Insia, played by Zaira Wasim, being an aspiring singer.

Produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Zee Studios, and Akash Chawla, it is written and directed by Advait Chandan.
