Mishti Chakravarty has never believed in method acting. She banks on spontaneity for her roles. “I like to keep it very natural; that’s when I think I am at my best,” she says.

Her upcoming film O Saathiya, starring Aryan Gowra, directed by Divya Bhavana, is said to be a love story. And the actress says her character’s age goes from 19 years to 27 in the course of the film.

“This is an intricate role, and looking different as the character ages was challenging. When producer Chandana Katta narrated the story, I could imagine the transformation and the shifts I would have to undergo. But I thoroughly enjoyed exploring this role,” she says. “Physically I had to work hard to get into shape and get my body weight right,” she adds.

It’s been nine years since Mishti joined the industry, and says she has been going with the flow. “But I am yet to find a ‘break the glass ceiling’ role. I haven’t come across a ‘Wow’ character yet. So my quest continues,” says the actress, who has worked in all the south languages. On a positive note, “I was introduced to various new cultures and food, thanks to the work I got in South India,” she smiles.
