It looks like the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for a new president in June as the term of ace producer Dil Raju comes to an end this May. “Abhishek Nama has a very good chance of becoming the next president of apex body,” says a source who claims this time the turn for presidentship goes to the distributors' sector. ‘Dil Raju became president under the producer’s sector, so now it is the turn of a top distributor to take up the coveted post,” he adds.

Unlike June last year, which witnessed a tough fight between Dil Raju and C Kalyan, and after their allegations and counter-allegations, 1200 members of the Telugu Film Chamber elected Dil Raju and his team with a good majority. “No such elections this time,’ says the source who adds, “Any one of the 12 executive members could become president under Distributors Sector this time around, and mostly likely it is going to be unanimous,” he points out. Being young and energetic Abhishek has a fair chance to outwit his rivals, if any. “He has been a producer and distributor with loads of experience in the film industry and knows in and out of filmmakers woes for many years and he could resolve issues much faster,” he adds.
Although there are other top-rung distributors like Suresh Babu, Allu Arvind, Sunil Narang, Dil Raju and Mythri Movie Makers in the elite executive committee they are reportedly planning to offer their support to Abhishek Nama to make it easier for him. “He is game for elections if there is no way out,” he concludes.
