Irrfan Khan heads to the USA for treatment, film with Deepika to be shelved?

It was touted to be Vishal Bhardawaj’s dream project. However, just a few days ago, the filmmaker-director announced on Twitter that Sapna Didi was being postponed owing to the ill health of both his lead actors — Irrfan Khan and Deepika Padukone. 

Now there are rumours swirling that the film maybe shelved since the Life of Pi actor has apparently headed to the US for treatment. A source close to Vishal says, “Irrfan was the most suited actor for the story of this film. There are bleak chances of the film being revived. We have been told that Irrfan will be heading to America for health treatment.”

Vishal has now reluctantly taken up smaller projects. “He has now started working on a small budget film and has already sorted out his crew. He is planning to take up this small budget movie ahead with some new and fresh faces. Once everything is finalised he will be announcing this film soon, maybe within a months’ time,” says the source.
