Revanth Reddy Slams KCR’s Two-Year Absence from Assembly; Calls for United Front on Krishna Water Rights

Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy turned the spotlight on the state’s water crisis and the political conduct of the Opposition during his address to the State Assembly on Saturday.

While emphasising that equitable water distribution was the bedrock of the Telangana statehood movement, Reddy expressed deep regret over the continued absence of Leader of the Opposition, K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), from the House.

"The movement for Telangana was born from the fight for water, funds, and employment. I have seen poverty and water scarcity firsthand," the Chief Minister stated. He pointed out that despite the Bachawat Tribunal allocating 811 TMC of Krishna River water to the united state, districts like Mahaubnagar faced historical injustice—a plight he claimed continued even in the decade following bifurcation.

Reddy argued that a leader of KCR’s experience would be invaluable during such critical debates. "It has been nearly two years since the Opposition Leader attended the Assembly. Debating from party offices only confuses the public; the Assembly is the platform for clarity," Reddy asserted. He noted that unlike the current opposition, Congress leaders in the past faced criticism head-on within the House.
