Hyderabad: Smartkosh Technologies, Droame LLP, FermionIC Design, Smartway Electronics and Pramatra Space Technology emerged as the top five winners of the semiconductor startup incubation and acceleration programme - season 2, on Wednesday.

The programme is a joint effort between NXP India, IIT Hyderabad’s Fabless Chip Design Incubator (FabCI), Startup India and the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).

All winners earned a substantial cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each. Mokkomotto secured the special jury award for their groundbreaking product solution. The winners will not only receive financial support but will also gain access to essential resources, including EDA tools, MPW access, mentoring during design and development, IP access, foundry/packaging access, and demo day visibility with NXP.

Aimed at identifying and nurturing semiconductor and IP design startups in India, the programme supports the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India vision. With a 125% increase in applications compared to the previous season, this year’s selection process involved rigorous evaluation by NXP experts across 10 panels, showcasing the burgeoning diversity and innovation within the semiconductor ecosystem.

The top five startups are set to undergo a two-year incubation period, providing them with a platform to showcase their products to investors and the broader business community.

The initiative not only bolsters the semiconductor and ESDM value chain but also strengthens India’s technological prowess on the global stage.
