MG Comet EV top-end Plush variant priced at Rs 9.98 lakh

PUNE: MG Motor, the British marquee brand owned by the Chinese car giant SAIC, on Friday announced the prices of the mid and top variants of the MG Comet EV. While the entry-level Pace trim costs Rs 7.98 lakh, the Play and Plus variants are priced at Rs 9.28 lakh and Rs 9.98 lakh at pan India showroom.

It beats the likes of the Tata Tiago EV priced between Rs 8.69 lakh and Rs 11.99 lakh and the Citroen e-C3 ranged between Rs 11.50 lakh and Rs 12.43 lakh.

The Comet EV is a 3-door micro hatchback with four seats. It comes with features like dual projector headlamps, LED taillights, dual 10.25-inch screens for the touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity and a digital instrument cluster.

The car also gets keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVMs, dual airbags, rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.

The Comet EV uses a 17.3 kWh battery pack that is said to offer a range of 230 km on a single charge. It powers an electric motor that generates 41 BHP and 110 Nm. According to MG, the battery can be charged from 0-100 per cent  7 hours using a 3.3 kW charger. It charges from 10-80 per cent in 5 hours.

MG is also offering a 3-year vehicle warranty, an 8-year battery warranty, as well as labour-free services and roadside assistance for 3 years. The car also comes with a 3-year / 60 per cent buyback offer.
