Classic eggnog

What’s Christmas without some classic eggnog? Here’s how you can raise a toast to the holiday season with a cup of your own!
 
Ingredients
4 egg yolks
1 cup milk
1 cup cream
½ cup white sugar
½ tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp nutmeg
¼ tsp cinnamon
¾ cup rum or brandy
 
Method
In a pan, combine milk, nutmeg, cinnamon and vanilla. Stir on medium heat until it boils. 
 
In a bowl, combine the egg yolks and the sugar. Whisk it until it’s nice and fluffy.
 
Next, slowly combine the milk with the eggs, until they’re blended well. Put it back on the stove and thicken it for about five minutes on a moderate flame. 
 
Switch off the flame and let the mixture cool down completely. Then add the remaining ingredients — the cream, rum and brandy. Mix well.
 
Refrigerate overnight and serve garnished with a pinch of nutmeg powder and a stick of cinnamon. Your eggnog is ready!
