A few months ago, producer Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment made an official announcement about his next venture, which featured Bobby Simha and Ishwarya Menon in the lead roles, with the title Veera. Newbie, Rajaraman, was said to wield the megaphone. Now, we hear that Bobby Simha has backed out of the project, citing dates issue and Vishnu Vishal replaced him. An aide close to Vishnu confirmed this with DC, although the Mundasuppatti actor is yet to go on board. However, priorly when Bobby Simha was roped in for the project, Kumar even went on record saying, “The title Veera was not intentionally planned but more of a glorious co-incidence. The script is padded with action and humour.

Bobby Simha, who is now emerging as a star, will suit the role. In my opinion this film will add another feather to his cap.” Apparently, Veera is also the title of a 1994 release Superstar flick which had Meena and Roja as the leading ladies, and was directed by Suresh Krissna. Set against the backdrop of North Madras, sources indicate that Vishnu has a challenging role in Veera. Leon James composes the tracks. Also a new addition in the cast is actor Karunakaran.
