Charmme had to do a lot of damage control on Monday after she upset leading producer Sudhakar Reddy with her comments about the latter’s son Nithiin’s film with director Puri Jagannath.

She had said the film had been shelved due to financial reasons (it had been reported that the real reason was that Puri wanted her to be part of the production). She had also said that Puri was not out of Chiranjeevi’s 150th. Upset with Charmme’s comments, Sudhakar Reddy wanted to call a press meet to reveal the real reason behind the film’s cancellation. “What is her concern in this film? She is not acting in the film and is nowhere related to the film. The producer was very angry and wanted to reveal the truth behind the film’s cancellation,” says a close source of Sudhakar Reddy.

Once she came to know about it, the actress immediately tried to soothe ruffled feathers. “She called many times and sent messages to the producer saying ‘Sorry’. She even apologised to Nithiin,” added the source. The producer, however, asked the actress to say the same in front of the media. “The producer even wanted to seek legal recourse and was prepared to file a defamation case against her for her comments,” says the source.

Sudhakar Reddy being one of the leading producers and distributors of Telangana, Charmme had to eat humble pie and posted on her Twitter and Facebook accounts: The truth is that even I don’t know for what reasons Jagan and Nithin’s film stopped… But just because I heard some rumours from somewhere about their finance problem and without checking to say it in press is my mistake. I sincerely apologise for that (sic).
