Puri Jagannadh-Vijay Sethupathi Film Set in a Beggar Colony

There’s a lot of buzz around Puri Jagannadh’s upcoming film with Vijay Sethupathi. We had reported earlier that it’s likely to be a money heist movie, possibly titled Slumdog. While there’s no official confirmation of this, an inside source has divulged some interesting details. “The story is set in Jhopadpatti, an area dominated by poor people and beggars,” says the source.

Vijay’s character enters the colony as a tenant, according to the source. “He lives in the small house of a Muslim woman who is a beggar. The lady is the pivot of the whole colony. Vijay plays a beggar too. The plot develops from there.” Shooting is complete, but post-production work and dubbing are yet to begin, reports the source.

Meanwhile, fans are eagerly waiting for the title announcement.
