Rani Mukerji has applied for her film Mardaani’s re-certification. The film was cleared with an ‘A’ certificate because of the use of violence and abusive language. The censor board also had problems with a particular scene in the film. They said that the makers would have to remove or tone it down for a U/A certificate but the team did not budge.

Rani’s good friend Aamir Khan, who has seen the film, feels that it is not suitable for a ‘U’ certificate. He said, “There are certain words in the film that I wouldn’t want my children to hear. There’s violence too. So, if I want to use that kind of content, then I will ensure that the film is appropriately certified and advertised as an adult film.” Aamir clarified that he has got nothing against good friend Rani.
