‘Dumb’ actress part of brilliant mockumentary in which she pokes fun at herself
Mumbai: Ever since Alia Bhatt’s poor grasp of general knowledge debuted on Koffee with Karan, she has been at the receiving end of constant ridicule, online. But now, those mocking the actress (who famously got the name of India’s President wrong), may have to salute Alia... who, in one swift stroke poked fun at herself, and is now maybe the funniest person in Bollywood with a little help from the folks at All India Backchod (AIB). The sporting actress took all her ‘oops’ moments and turned it into a brilliant sketch titled, Genius of the Year.
The short movie has just about everybody making fun of Alia from Mahesh Bhatt, Parineeti Chopra to Arjun Kapoor, with that delightful poke at Chetan Bhagat. But the cherry on top is Karan Johar and his ‘rapid fire’ with Alia.
The video has become a hit on YouTube with over a lakh views in just hours. B-town celebs like Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Hrithik Roshan even tweeted about it. “We had been planning a mockumentary for a long time and thought Alia would be the best option. She immediately agreed and because of her, others too came on board,” said Gursimran Khamba, from AIB. The group will also release a ‘behind the scenes’ video soon.
