Samanta’s tweet got censor support

The regressive poster of 1 gets the axe and actor Mahesh Babu chooses to comment now.

When actress Samanta tweeted on the promotional poster for Mahesh Babu-starrer ‘1’ Nenokkadine — where she said, “it’s deeply regressive” — the film’s director Sukumar and lead actor Mahesh Babu chose to ignore it.

Even when Mahesh Babu fans lashed out at Samanta on Twitter and called her names for “daring” to speak against their favourite star, Mahesh Babu didn’t react.

Interestingly, the film recently hit the theatres without the “offensive” poster. Apparently, following Samanta’s tweet, even the Regional Censor Board officer asked the producers to remove it. “They were asked to remove it to avoid controversy,” reveals a source. After the film has released and got a lukewarm response, Mahesh Babu decided to voice his opinion in an interview to a news channel, of course, while waxing eloquent about his role in the film. “Twitter is a dangerous platform. Instead of posting there, she could have told Namrata,” he said.

Apparently, Samanta and Mahesh’s wife Namrata are in regular touch, so the superstar feels it would have been better if the matter was conveyed personally. Sukumar is also said to share Mahesh’s opinion and feels that since Sam is from the industry, she should have spoken to the makers of the film instead posting her views online.
